Key Information
- School Lunches: Lunch bookings for the summer term are now live on MCAS. Please ensure you have booked lunches for the first week back after Easter – by Wednesday 9th April. Thank you
- Planting on the Plaza: We are lucky to have some wonderful volunteers who are putting a lot of effort into planting up the borders on the plaza to make them look beautiful for all of us to enjoy. Unfortunately, we have noticed that some of the new plants have been trampled and one has even pulled up. Please keep an eye on what your children are doing on the plaza, so that we can give the plants time to get established.
- School Uniform: Please note that the Club Sports Ledbury Store will no longer be selling our Uniform after April 11th. After this date our uniform will be available in the Hereford Store https://club-sports.shop/collections/colwall-primary-school As per normal, our Uniform will still be available to purchase online at Trutex and second hand uniform will be available from school.
- Parents Evening: Booking options now live on MCAS.

Snap Shot of the Week
What an amazing amount of support we received for our OPAL volunteer morning on Saturday! We are enormously grateful for all our volunteers who made such a difference by making our play offer even better! We now have:
Dino World, a children’s garden and potting area, tuk-tuks, a giant dolls’ house, painting and chalk boards, cosy reading nooks and small world areas.
Lots of repair work means that we have been able to reintroduce resources which needed a bit of TLC. Much fun was had by all, along with coffee and bacon sandwiches from our outdoor kitchen. Thank you to you all- we couldn’t do it without your kindness and dedication to play.

Our Mini-beast Mega Mix is coming to an end.
Did you know that Monarch butterflies have the longest migration in the Americas?
We have found that there is even a pink ladybird with four spots and that there is a caterpillar that pretends to be a snake.
How do you think you would feel if you ate all the things The Very Hungry Caterpillar did?
We have been looking at life cycles and spotting the differences between mini-beasts today.

Year 1 have been putting their teamwork to the test this week! After a discussion about how a good team works, they completed a spiral maze using pipe cleaners to guide their pens along. They had to use communication, great listening skills and concentration to complete the task!

🎹 Piano Recital Delight 🎶
Today, we were treated to a wonderful piano recital by Mrs Moore’s talented students. Performing a lovely selection of pieces, the children showed great confidence and musical skill, delighting everyone with their hard work and dedication. It was a joy to see how much progress they’ve made, and the audience was full of proud smiles and warm applause. A huge well done to all the performers, and thank you to Mrs Moore for guiding them so beautifully.

We are super excited about this one-of-a-kind event coming to our community – Swift and Styles Live! Thanks to a fantastic connection with a parent in the industry, we’ve secured this amazing concert for our families. Whether you’re a fan of Taylor’s hits or Styles’ smooth tunes, this is a night that promises something for everyone!
Bring the whole family for a fun-filled evening of live music, good vibes, and unforgettable moments. We’ve got a bar for the grown-ups and snacks for the kids – it’s the perfect way to spend an evening together. Don’t miss out – mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable night. You have a short priority period left before we open up remaining tickets to the wider community.

Parent Information

Dear Parents and Carers,
One of the leading brass bands in England, Flowers Brass Band, are coming to Ledbury to join with Ledbury Brass Band, giving a workshop and performance on the evening of Saturday 5th April 2025. This will be an amazing concert and great to inspire any budding brass players! https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/herefordshire/john-masefield-high-school/brass-concert/e-gxodel
As well as a concert, the bass trombone player from Flowers Band is leading a workshop in the afternoon, to encourage any younger pupils (and older!) to come and try out some brass instruments, with the possibility of joining the new Ledbury Training Band. See the flyer for more details. You do not need to book the workshop, you can just turn up.
