Key Information

  • Flower beds – Please can you ensure that children do not walk on the flower beds on the plaza. Once children have been dismissed at the end of the day, it is parent’s responsibility to look after them. Our wonderful volunteer has put a lot of effort into planting up the boarders.
  • Illness – If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, please contact the School Office before 9am, every day that your child is absent from School or Nursery. If you child has had sickness or diarrhoea, they will need to remain off school for 48 hours from the last bout.
  • Late arrivals – We have noticed that there are several children repeatedly arriving late to school. School start time is at 8.45am, by which time children should be in their classrooms ready to start the day and already engaging in early morning learning. Late arrivals cause disruption to other pupils and can be unsettling.

We are having some exciting new additions in Forest School. Whilst the works are being completed some of our forest school sessions will be on the playground. Please could children continue to bring in their full forest school kit as some sessions may still be a bit muddy. We are looking forward to sharing the new developments with the children.

In Maths this week, Year 5 have been looking at finding the area of shapes. We started off by measuring squares using rulers and meter sticks and familiarising ourselves with the measurement of cm² and m².

This week, our Year 3 and 4 children proudly represented the school at the football festival held at The Downs. They played an impressive six matches across the day, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, determination and resilience in every game. The children supported one another brilliantly, celebrated each other’s successes and never gave up, even when matches were challenging. Their positive attitudes, excellent sportsmanship and enthusiasm made them wonderful ambassadors for our school, and we are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves both on and off the pitch. Well done to all who took part! ⚽

Our Year 5 and 6 children had a fantastic time competing in the Sports Hall Athletics tournament at John Masefield High School, organised by Stride Active. They competed brilliantly in a wide range of running and jumping events, showing determination, energy and great team spirit throughout. The afternoon finished with a fast-paced obstacle course which brought plenty of excitement — along with lots of smiles and more than a few out-of-breath moments! Every child gave their all and demonstrated a super attitude from start to finish. We are very proud of the effort and enthusiasm shown by everyone involved.
