Wrens have been outdoor adventurers this week and have created their own park using our large construction resources. We experimented with ways of keeping our slide stable and had a lot of fun travelling down it backwards!
Wrens have also begun their woodworking journey this week, starting with learning how to hammer nails. They did an amazing job of working safely and were incredibly enthusiastic all round! We are really proud of our little woodworkers and are excited to see what they create.

On Thursday, the Year 1 children enjoyed potting their broad bean seeds after keeping a close eye on them in our homemade greenhouses. Although only one seed had started to sprout so far, the children were excited to plant them and learn more about how plants grow. We are looking forward to continuing to care for them over the next few weeks and seeing whose broad bean plant will grow the tallest!

Year 2 have been getting hands on in maths. We have been investigating how polygons can be joined and folded to form 3D shapes. Year 2 demonstrated a strong understanding of the properties of shapes, alongside excellent problem-solving skills, while also continuing to develop their fine motor skills!

Year 4 had a fantastic morning with Colwall Orchard Group who ran an art workshop using all of the natural resources around us. The children had 2 sessions with jelly printing and charcoal stencil work. It was fantastic to see all the children engaged and having a go. We had lots of laughs and lots of serious concentration with trial and error. We are very thankful for COG for providing this for us.
