Key Information
- Road Works – There are road works planned along Mill Lane over the next few weeks. These will be between Flap Gate Lane and the end of Old Church Road. Once this section is complete the works will be on Old Church Road leading up to the village. We have been assured that at no point will access to the school and village hall car park from the Walwyn Road side be stopped.
- The Friends- Do you want to help the school to raise money but struggle with time and child care? On Monday 22nd April, the Friends are holding an ideas sharing meeting for all parents to help us come up with some new fundraising plans and actions straight after school. The school staff are kindly putting on a film for the children to watch whilst the parents are in the meeting, enjoying a cup of tea and sharing their ideas so that childcare is not an issue. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Thank you for your support
- School Lunches – Remember to book meals by Wednesday for the following week.

Snapshot of the week
This week, Mrs Moore hosted a piano recital in school. All these children were very brave and performed in front of an audience of parents as well as the whole school! They all played beautifully and we were very proud of all of them. A big thank you to Mrs Moore for teaching them and organising the event.

Reading Challenge
A big thank you to all children who helped raise money for the school. We were blown away and are massively appreciative of your support. The event was a huge success with children raising a combined total of £843.40! Usborne books have added an extra 60% giving us a grand total of £1349.44 to spend on books for our school. Once again, thank you for your support. Families are the life blood of our school and we are thrilled that you are all part of our wider Colwall family.
We had three top fund raisers. Douglas and Oliver in Wren class and Ralph in Goldfinch class who raised a whopping £358 between them – well done boys!
We are also delighted to announce the winners of our ‘Read in an unusual place’ competition. Robyn and Tilly both take reading to the extreme – go girls!
Year 6
Year 6 have begun their topic on WW2. They’ve studied the main countries involving in the war and their leaders. They then learnt about Neville Chamberlain and appeasement. They had some great arguments for and against appeasement. We’ve also started our new class novel ‘Letters from the Lighthouse’ by Emma Carroll. The children love the story about a girl called Olive who is evacuated from London to Devon – but she has a mystery to solve. She’s found a note with a secret code written on it – can you crack the code?

Hello!

Please register your children on the links below:

Each child will receive a personalised T-Shirt. Unfortunately, the ECB have been unable to offer the equipment (bat, ball & bag) this year due to manufacturing issues.
The courses officially start on an 8 week program from the 10th May however as with the wider Junior program at Colwall , we will run the sessions from Friday 26th April for the duration of the Summer Term concluding the 19th July. This is an extra 5 evenings of cricket for your children to enjoy.
As always, we need parents to support the club and anyone willing to offer support to the coaches will receive a free beer and burger each Friday for your support. Please contact me directly if you are able to help in any capacity whether it be throwing a ball, encouraging the children, helping with registration etc. Each week we need around 10 grown ups to ensure the sessions are run smoothly and safely. Feel free to reach out to come and give it a try.
We look forward to hopefully welcoming you and your children on Friday evenings.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on adamtseymour@yahoo.co.uk
I look forward to the warm sunny Friday evenings returning!
