  • School Lunches – Please book in School Lunches by midnight on Wednesday the week before on MCAS. Anyone who does not order by this deadline will have to provide their child with pack lunches, as the extra administrative work in booking and keeping track of late orders is very time consuming.

  • Rag Bin – We have a rag recycling bin in the school car park that you are welcome to use to recycle any torn or old clothing or material that is no longer usable. Please keep clothing that can still be worn for our Rags to Riches collection in the Spring.

Snap Shot of the Week

Wrens have been busy printing with apples to create a special ‘thank you’ message for Harvest. We worked together using autumnal coloured paints and have enjoyed singing Harvest songs. Mrs Ellis and Mrs Phillips were very proud of their teamwork.

Snap Shot of the Week

This week we took our geography lesson outside and used coloured cones to map out the different climate zones of Japan!

Year 2

Snap Shot of the Week

In Science this half term, our unit has been all about living things and their habitats. We’ve managed to take some of our learning outside in the last couple of weeks which has been a lot of fun (and quite muddy, in parts!). We carried out an invertebrate hunt, collecting some to sketch. We observed them closely and considered their characteristics before classifying them into arthropods, annelids and molluscs. This week, we went on a plant hunt – trying to find examples of flowering plants , conifers, ferns and mosses in the school grounds.

Up coming Events

Herefordshire Council is running a very special competition for primary school pupils to help name our fleet of gritters that are in action to keep our roads safe during the colder months.

It’s a great opportunity for Herefordshire children to get thinking creatively over half term.

The competition is open to the following age groups:

3 to 5 years

6 to 7 years

8 to 11 years

All entrants have to do is visit the official competition page, enter a few key details so that we can contact the winners, and submit their suggested name for one of our gritters.

Each winner will be invited to attend the Balfour Beatty Living Places depot to meet their gritter in person, along with some of the winter heroes who maintain and operate them. They will also be awarded their own competition winner certificate to take home with them.

But this isn’t all – a new online system is launching this winter that will allow people to see the locations and progress of the gritters in real time. This means the competition winners will be able to follow their named gritter as they work hard to keep Herefordshire roads safe during the colder months.

The deadline for entries is Tuesday 27 October 2024.

If you have any questions about our gritter naming competition, please email submit@herefordshire.gov.uk
