Snapshot of the week

Our Year 6 Netball team performed superbly this week. After getting through to the finals earlier this year, they showed excellent sportsmanship, determination and team work against strong competition at this week’s finals tournament. We are all super proud of them!

Snap Shot of the Week

Wrens have been observing growth and change this half term. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching our caterpillars grow. It has been lovely to apply our knowledge from reading the wonderful, Very Hungry Caterpillar book and see the real version! We eagerly await our chrysalides.

Year 3

Year 3 had a fantastic adventure to Colwall Orchard for some Orchard School last Friday! They hunted for different plants and leaves in the meadow and found out more about different plants that grow there. We were very lucky to take Mr Alviti with us – an expert on all things ‘bee’ related. Thank you so much for coming with us Mr A!

Year 4

Year 4 have wowed Mrs Masefield with their superb persuasive writing recently. Take a look at some of their letters to Mrs Harrison. They could choose between the following three topics: the school day being shorter, break times being longer or not having to wear school uniform again.

We also had some keen and confident readers who wanted to share their writing by reading aloud to the class. Everyone has been working very hard on neatening their handwriting and overall presentation. We’re improving the overall structure of our writing as well as our ability to proof-read and edit our work too. We hope you’re as impressed as Mrs Masefield!

Year 5

In Year 5, we have been working with Colwall Youth Project to explore our emotions. We have created an emotions wheel and have reflected on how these emotions make us feel. Our reflections are represented in the colours and designs we have chosen to decorate our wheels.

Friday Night Cricket

Hello!

I am pleased to announce that the ECB have finally opened up registration for the All Stars and Dynamos cricket programs that we are running on a Friday night for children in school years Reception to Year 3 (All Stars) and Year 4 (Dynamos).

Please register your children on the links below:

All Stars – Reception to Year 3 Children – https://ecb.clubspark.uk/AllStars/Course/f2a6c185-9361-4004-a042-2dec435d3531

Dynamos – Year 4 Children https://ecb.clubspark.uk/Dynamos/Course/c82663d2-1c7b-4cdc-8df1-d089060c1402

Each child will receive a personalised T-Shirt. Unfortunately, the ECB have been unable to offer the equipment (bat, ball & bag) this year due to manufacturing issues.

The courses officially start on an 8 week program from the 10th May however as with the wider Junior program at Colwall , we will run the sessions from Friday 26th April for the duration of the Summer Term concluding the 19th July. This is an extra 5 evenings of cricket for your children to enjoy.

As always, we need parents to support the club and anyone willing to offer support to the coaches will receive a free beer and burger each Friday for your support. Please contact me directly if you are able to help in any capacity whether it be throwing a ball, encouraging the children, helping with registration etc. Each week we need around 10 grown ups to ensure the sessions are run smoothly and safely. Feel free to reach out to come and give it a try.

We look forward to hopefully welcoming you and your children on Friday evenings.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on adamtseymour@yahoo.co.uk

I look forward to the warm sunny Friday evenings returning!

Thanks

Adam
