Nursery

Welcome to our farm. This half-term we are focusing on dinosaurs and farms. The children in ‘The Nest’ made it quite clear that they wanted their own farm, with balloon chickens, cardboard pigs, donkeys and cows and we even have our own tractor. All the children have really embraced the theme. Today we had a go at being chickens, scraping at the ground and brooding a clutch of eggs.

Our key new words this week are foal and poults. We did wonder today if we could have dolphins in our farm, but decided it was too small.

Snap Shot of the Week

Year 1

This week year 1 have been learning how to make equations and rearrange them. In this lesson the children used counters to represent the different equations. The children have been working very hard and have shown their amazing knowledge on addition number sentences.

Snapshot of the week

Year 3 had a fantastic, dramatic morning on Wednesday when they were visited by Becky from The Courtyard Theatre in Hereford. They engaged in a wonderful workshop that explored teamwork, confidence and mental health and wellbeing. We explored the 5 steps to positive wellbeing; be active, engage, interact, notice and give, with a different activity linked to each one. It was so brilliant to see such wonderful teamwork and communication from the children, as well as some very happy, smiley faces!

The children will now work towards a 5-minute performance which they will be invited to perform on the main stage at the Courtyard in May. More information to follow, keep your eyes peeled!!

Year 4

Mrs Masefield and Miss Bille took some Year 4s to the annual Football Tournament at The Downs School on Tuesday this week. They engaged in a great warm up led by one of their team members. There were some great goals scored and superb saves made! Well done to all the players!
