A note from Mrs MP

As we move into wetter weather, we would like to remind everyone of the importance of sending children to Forest School with suitable clothing to keep them warm, dry, and comfortable.

Please ensure your child comes prepared with:

  • Waterproof coat and waterproof trousers (or an all-in-one suit)
  • Warm layers underneath (e.g. jumper, fleece)
  • Wellington boots or sturdy waterproof footwear
  • Warm socks (thick or double layers)
  • Hat and gloves (preferably waterproof)
  • A named plastic bag for muddy or wet clothing after the session

Children will still be going outside in the rain as this is part of the Forest School experience, and having the right kit will help them enjoy the sessions safely and comfortably.

Thank you for your continued support in helping your child make the most of Forest School whatever the weather!

Kind regards,

Emily Marten Price

Snap Shot of the Week

This week in Art, Year 1 continued their work on spirals. The children enjoyed creating snail drawings using chalk and oil pastels.

Year 1

Snap Shot of the Week

Today we had Reverend Melanie come into Year 6 to help us write prayers about compassion and perseverance. She explained that prayers can help to bring a community together and that saying ‘Amen’ is a way of saying that you agree and want to pray the same prayer. The children created their own individual prayers and were encouraged to follow the TSP prayer model (thank you, sorry, please) or to be creative, writing prayers that rhyme or in the style of an acrostic poem.

Keeping Children Safe Online
The latest update to Keeping Children Safe in Education now recognises misinformation, disinformation and conspiracy theories as safeguarding concerns. These can feel very convincing when shared by persuasive influencers or dramatic online videos.

This week’s Wake Up Wednesday guide explains the risks – such as isolation, anxiety, and exposure to harmful content – and how conspiracy theories can undermine children’s critical thinking and trust in reliable sources. It also offers practical tips to help parents encourage curiosity, healthy scepticism, and safe digital habits.
