Key Information
- Head lice- There have been a number of cases of head lice in school. Please can you check your child/ren regularly. Information can be found on the NHS website or at your local pharmacy. Thank you.
- Staff Car Park – Please note that children should not be allowed to enter the Staff Car Park. Please ensure that your child does not go in this area at pick up or drop off time.
- Christmas Card Orders – The deadline for ordering Christmas Cards/Items is Monday 18th November, to ensure they are back in time for Christmas. You should have received order details for your child. Please make orders online.
- Arrival time – Please remember that the school gates now close in the morning at 8.45am. Children arriving after this time must be accompanied to the school office to sign in.
- Shoe boxes – We have hats & gloves available outside the office. Please feel free to pick up these items to add to your own shoe boxes
- Last week school dinners – We will be having a Christmas meal on the last day of term. The menu for this week will be put on MCAS two weeks before. We will put a reminder on the Newsletter when this week’s meals are bookable.

Clerk to the Governing Body
We are looking for a new Clerk to the Governing Body here at Colwall CofE Primary School and Nursery. This is a wonderful position for someone looking for part-time work from home (6/10 hours per half term to suit) and who can commit to approximately 4/8 hours attending meetings at the school (2 to 3 meetings per half term)
The position would suit someone who is a strong administrator, has excellent knowledge of word, xls and is digitally savvy. Full training for the position is given and we are looking for a start date of beginning of January (or earlier) to ensure a full handover.

Year 1 have been exploring greater than and less than in their maths lessons this week! They have enjoyed building towers to show their understanding of the concept in a fun and practical way

In Science we are looking at rocks! Today, we used chocolate to form the different types of rocks – sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous!

National Student Poem Competition
We are proud to announce that following the success of 2024’s National School Song Competition, we are delighted to introduce the First Ever National Student Poem Competition.
We believe that writing increases creativity, self-esteem and confidence for all children and teenagers across the UK.
Your poem can be any subject (no profanities or themes of an offensive nature allowed) and can be uploaded easily with no fuss from a mobile or laptop.
The winning poem will receive a £500 voucher plus have their poem illustrated in The National Student Poetry Journal and the chance to have their poem turned into a song. 5 runners up with receive vouchers and will also be in the Journal along with 50 other entries.
The cost of entry is £9.99 per poem which will benefit our amazing Charity Partner Grief Encounter who undertakes crucial work for young people across the UK. www.griefencounter.org.uk.
