Next week, each class will be exploring natural and traditional crafts, using nature’s wonderful resources to inspire their creativity. We will also continue our celebrations of harvest, thinking about the changing seasons and the treasures that autumn brings.

In Wonder club this week, Miss Flight and Mrs Simpson helped the children cook delicious pancakes!  The children chopped up extra toppings for the pancakes like bananas and blueberries. Yum!

Snapshot of the week

We had a wonderful RE Day on Tuesday, with the whole school taking part in a range of exciting and meaningful activities. The children enjoyed making a harvest loaf, learning a traditional Hindu celebration dance called Pongal, and exploring the topic of wonky vegetables and how we can appreciate food that might otherwise go to waste. It was a fantastic day filled with creativity, curiosity and opportunities to learn about different beliefs, traditions and the importance of harvest.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Harvest Festival service on Thursday. Our Year 6 Directors did a fantastic job of leading the service, and every class shone as they sang beautifully and shared their wonderful work. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed donations to support our local community. We were delighted to send a car load of donations to the food bank today, helping to make a difference to those who need it most. Thank you all for your generosity and for helping us celebrate the true spirit of harvest: sharing, kindness and gratitude.

Year 1 have continued to explore spirals in art this week. We have been experimenting with adding water to our drawings and observing how it changes the appearance of our spirals. The children have enjoyed exploring the effects of water, noticing how it can make their artwork look different and creating some lovely, unique effects.

School Admissions

We warmly invite prospective parents and families to attend our Open Mornings on Wednesday 14th October and Wednesday 18th November from 9.30 – 11am. This is a wonderful opportunity to look around the school, meet our staff, and gain a real insight into school life. Our Year 6 Directors will be leading guided tours, while members of staff will be available throughout the morning to answer any questions you may have. We particularly welcome parents of children starting Reception in September 2027, as well as families considering transferring into other year groups. Parents are welcome to attend on their own or bring their child along if they wish. Please spread the word to family and friends.
